ELTERMA brings heat treating in-house for Spanish manufacturer, improving the quality of parts produced
ELTERMA has started up a technological system of pit furnaces, PEGat-1000/18x 30 types, designed for carburizing transmission gear elements for wind power plants for a Spanish manufacturer. The heat treatment of these parts was previously outsourced. Installation of this production system allows our customer the control over the production process and part parameters improving the quality of products produced.
The technological system consists of the following equipment:
- two (2) electrical pit carburizing furnaces, PEGat-1000/18x30 type
- electrical pit tempering furnace, PEG-750/18x30 type
- oil quench tank, WHO-18x30 type
- washing equipment, MKV2-18x30 type
The technological system of PEGat-1000/18x30 pit furnace incorporates innovative ELTERMA technical solutions of pit furnace design. The system is designed for heat-treating a workload weight of 8.000 kg, and chamber size of 1800 mm x 3000 mm. Advanced solutions improves the temperature uniformity in the heating chamber from +/- 5oC to +/-3oC, reducing scrap, and increasing the production rate. All of this has contributed to a very safe operation of these furnaces in accordance with the CE requirements.
