ELTERMA S. A. Starts Up Retort Pit Furnace in Belgium
In November 2008 ELTERMA S.A. started up a new pit furnace in Belgium. The contract included the delivery of a PEGAT-1000 electrical retort pit furnace designed for carburizing and carbonitriding with an automatic temperature and carbon potential control system.
During the designing phase the lid-lifting mechanism has been updated. The standard hydraulic POHAT crane has been replaced by an improved POMOHAT crane. This change improved the mechanism’s functionality and reduce production costs.
This furnace is the first project designed completely in 3D using SolidWorks Office Premium 2008, which has recently been implemented in Elterma's engineering group.
